Another Chicken Card!

I have really been on a roll with these chicken images! This one is from Hambo stamps! I love their images because they are so silly and fun! I stamped this cutie pie on glossy white cardstock using my SU! ink. I am still having an issue with some smearing while coloring with my Copics. I ordered the Palette noir but it is on backorder! I had this magic mesh, also from SU! (which I heard they might not carry anymore!) I had this brilliant idea that I would use my circle punch to cut the MAgic Mesh....big mistake! It broke my punch! It is sticking and I had to use a hammer to unstick it! Now it is not working! Another one of my brilliant plans gone wrong! Anyway, back to the card, I decided to sew with embroidery floss.....yes I know, I AM pretty domestic aren't I? I did the blanket stitch! I attached the meshed, sewn circle to a distressed scalloped circle. The solid card stock is by Bazzill, the lined paper is Creative Imaginations, and the animal paper is Karen Foster. I used jewelry tags to stamp, "Hi Chick." with Karen Foster's snap stamps. I had some quilting fabric which I cut and used for ribbon.

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! I'll be back on Monday....lots of family stuff happening! Happy Father's Day too!!

A card using Lockhart Stamps! And Awesome Blog Candy!

I was playing around with my Copic markers last night. I am having trouble with the black ink smearing! I have tried SU! and Staz-on. My MIL told me to try the Pallete noir ink. IF you have any suggestions please leave me a comment! Anyway, I used SU! glossy white cardstock. I find the Copics blend better on the glossy paper. Then I cuttlebugged the Bashful blue cardstock by SU! I used the darker blue by SU! but can't remember the name of the color off hand! The ribbon is by Brenda Walton. I used this loopy brads to tie the ribbon through. I gave this card to my babysitter with a gift card inside. Hope she liked it!

The last few days have been exciting mail days! This fantastic blog candy was won over at Adelina's blog, Well Said Cards! She really gave away a stash! The box was never ending! I am going to have so much fun creating with these wonderful goodies! Thanks so much Adelina!

A couple of days ago I received a package from Finland! I won blog candy over at Tikkelperin Jutskia by Kirsi! She sent this beautiful make-up bag, Finnish candy, and this beautiful ATC card! Thanks so much Kirsi!

Check out both of these talented ladies blogs!

Girly Frog!

I love the one dollar stamps at Michaels! My son has an obsession with frogs so I am always drawn to anything with a frog on it! I had to buy this stamp set just for this tiny frog! One thing led to another and I added eyelashes and red ruby lips! I used PRismas and Gamsol for her little body.

I found some fun Basic Grey paper and embossed the solid green with my SU! template. I used Karen Foster's snap stamps for the sentiment. It was such a long sentiment that I cut each letter out individually for interest. I added rhinestones to the letter i. Wouldn't this be cute for a girlfriend who just hasn't found the right guy?

Recipe Card Contest

Ellen Hutson over at Simple Dreams wrote about a contest that Karen Lockhart was having. You need to make a 4 x 6 recipe card and use one of her Lockhart stamps. The prize is awesome! It is various food products worth over $100.00! YUM! Debbie Olson srongly encouraged ME to enter....but have you seen HER work? She is stampin royalty for pete's sake...I am peasant material I tell ya! I figured I couldn't compete! Anyway she told me to enter....so who am I to argue with the Queen?

I started with black paper from SU! and had this awesome veggie DP by Joy Hall, Porterfield's Fine Art. I used my Copic markers to color the lettuce dress. Isn't it the cutest stamp? I printed this recipe off the computer. I used my ticket punch and some black Lasting Impressions matte brads. I used my sewing machine and glue dotted my ric rac. (Is this a verb? Dotted?) I had these adorable measuring spoons and tied them with yellow ribbon to the ric rac.

Anyway I mailed this off a few days ago...I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I win!

Thanks for all the kind comments....and you will be happy to know I have submitted 2 of my cards to Paper Crafts. I think I will submit my Tuscan Rose card from yesterday....what do I have to lose? My problem is deciding who to submit to? Paper Crafts, Take Ten, Rubber Stamper? Do any of you have any suggestions about this?

And one last thing...many of you have commented on my 2 cutie pie dogs over the last few months....I just wanted to share with you my sad news. My little Pomeranian, Molly was put down on Monday evening. She had stopped eating for 5 days. She was 16 years old and had lived a good life. I was crying like a baby! I remember coming home the night of my wedding 14 years ago in my wedding gown, to her jumpy, little rambunctious self! She was a good little girl! I will miss my Molly Boll.

Tuscan Rose Card

I love these butterflies from Tuscan Rose. I just think the colors are extraordinary! I used DP from Autumn Leaves and Foo Fa La! I used pink paper from DCWV and my scallop punch. The card is Sahara Sand from SU! I also used the Tuscan Rose corner flourish.....love this! For the sentiment I used Paper Trey's Little Lady stamp.

Beach Bella

I stamped Beach Bella in SU! Basic Black ink. I colored her in using my Prismas and gamsol. I used this awesome embossing powder by Stampendous...called...sand! It really looks just like sand! I had this cute ribbon from Target. I had this sand dollar charm in my stash for years and decided to use it on the ribbon. I used my Karen Foster snap stamps for the sentiment, added a little metal clip and rhinestone! Happy Summer everyone!

Cricut Card!

As you know, I am part of the Design Team for Regina over at HAnd to Paper. It has been wonderful playing with my Cricut! I didn't have the cartridge for her first challenge ( I KNOW...Can you even believe that?!) So I was playing around with my Walk in the Garden cartridge. I kind of screwed up this card cuz I wanted to add dazzling diamonds and used this ooey, gloppy glue that went out of control! I switched to my 2 way glue by Zig.....Much better! The cherry stamp is the new line of acrylic stamps by Doodlebug. I used my Copic markers to color it in. I used the Karen Foster snap stamps to stamp hi. The green paper is SU! and Basic Grey. The black tulle is by Heidi Grace. Hope everyone had a great weekend.....off to swim with the kids!
