Cherish....

One of the girls at work just announced she was expecting a baby.....her first. I wanted to make her a congratulations card. I used some very old KI paper, my sewing machine, felt, and part of a transparency for the word cherish. I cut the felt heart free hand and machine stitched it. The baby stamp is from Rubber Soul. I added some ribbon and a little star button.

DID YOU NOTICE this goofy comment from yesterday's post?

I was totally freaking that some pervert posted this! My hubby comes upstairs and sees me all upset and asked me what was wrong. So I showed him the comment. He suggested deleting it. I tried that, but couldn't figure out how to do it! I was pretty frantic, when suddenly my dear hubby starts cracking up......"IT was ME!" he yelled! OH I could have KILLED him! Isn't he just sooooo funny? (Insert bit of sarcasm here!)

Long Time Friend....

I just bought this set from Anna Wight at Sassy and Sweet. I had long admired this set and have been wanting it for a long time. So when I saw it posted on her blog I had to purchase it right away! I colored it in with my Prismas and mineral spirits. I cut the image out using my Nestibilities. I used Crafty Secret's Earthy pad of paper. I added some vintage ribbon and buttons.

Thanks for coming to visit me! I so appreciate all of your kind comments!!!! : )

It's a Girl!

One of my coworkers just had her first grandchild. Her daughter just delivered a baby girl on Friday. I bought her a cute frame for her first grandbaby picture and made her a card! The stamp is from Rubber Soul. I won this set from Julie Campbell, over at Stamped in His Image, awhile ago. I stamped it on pink felt and added dazzling diamonds to the outer edge. I added a piece of vintage lace. I also used my score pal to emboss just the outer edges. (It is subtle so you may have to click on it to really see it!) The sentiment is by SU!. I cut it out and added a little pearl to the i. I hope she likes it!
On a personal note, I got a call from the school district that Cortney got accepted into Elim Christian School for the Disabled! She will start there is April. It is such an incredible school and is so equipped to handle her needs. She can remain there until she is 21. Finally, she will have a school to call her own! No more bouncing around from school district to school district!

A Birthday Card....

This image is from High Hope's Stamps. It is supposed to be for Valentine's Day, but I thought it would work for a birthday too. So I made it for my niece's birthday......in July! (Probably the ONLY card I have ever made ahead of time!) I used watercolors on her as well as Copics. I used my Spellbinders, Basic Grey paper, KI Memories' acrylic number, Dew Drops, stick pin, and ribbon.

Well, back to work tomorrow...........yea......can you feel my excitement?

Crafty Secret's Sweet Chip's Dress!

As many of you know, I love Crafty Secret's stamps ! I love the vintage feel of them. I had bought this chipboard dress awhile ago. I decide to go with the colors in my kitchen, red and black. I covered the chipboard with the paper bought from Crafty Secrets. It is the Earthy pad. I love that the papers are double sided! I added some vintage ribbon and buttons. I placed red rhinestones in the center of the buttons. I embossed the kitchen tools in black and cut them out. (These tools can be found in the Crafty Secret's Mini Chef set.) I tucked them in the pocket. The mitten was embossed with SU! red tinsel.
On the inside a printed a wonderful pound cake recipe. I stamped the bowl and eggs from Crafty Secret's Mini Chef set. One of the eggs I cut and popped out with a pop dot.
I want to thank all of you that left such kind supportive comments about my new DT position at Sweet n' Sassy Stamps. It really means a lot to me! It really brought a huge smile to my face. I am so looking forward to working with Korin and the rest of the DT! Soon you will be seeing many samples using her adorable stamps!
