Sweet n' Sassy's Newest Release!

Today is the day you can start purchasing this adorable penguin set over at Sweet n' Sassy! I wanted something that looked icy and cool........Acetate! I Cuttlebugged it and ran my white Staz on over the edges. The circle was cut with my Spellbinders. I cut the felt oval with my Spellbinders too. For the penguins body, I glittered his entire body. I added 3 clear Dew Drops to the left hand corner. Unfortunately, it is so hard to photograph these cards well. IF you know a trick please let me know! I finally took a picture of the blog candy I will be offering......check back on Sunday night for a chance to win!

***Just got the call a little while ago.......SNOW DAY! WE are getting hit badly with snow....over a foot! What am I going to do with myself on this unexpected day off? So many choices!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!! Thanks for visiting me today!

Sweet n' Sassy's Newest Release!

I love penguins! There is something so endearing about these animals. So this brand new set from Sweet n' Sassy (released tomorrow!) was right up my alley. I did some paper piecing on the mother penguin. The paper is by Creative Imaginations. I used The scalloped edges for the edge of the card as well. I cuttlebugged the Lasting Impression's paper. I have been on a bit of a felt kick......I'm telling ya that if it is on my desk I am using it! (Just like that dang KI paper!) So I cut the felt into tiny hearts and used a Sharpie to outline the edges. I added a button brad and cut up the sentiment. And there ya have it, a shabified penguin!

Just an FYI, my card yesterday mistakingly stated that those plant thingys were "Pussywillows." My MIL informed me that they are NOT Pussywillows, they ARE cat tails. Obviously, I need to go back to science class! So Simone, you were right........but at least I made ya laugh!

Sweet n' Sassy!

This is my first card using the ever so cute, Sweet n' Sassy Stamp set, Pond Pals. You will have to check out Splitcoast, because Korin has an ad there for her awesome line! Anyway, getting back to the card, I decided to create a "scene" which is totally out of my comfort zone. (Also do you see that dang KI Memories paper? I keep using it cuz scraps of it are hanging around my desk! I think I have finally used ALL of the polka dot paper!) I stamped the pussywillows (Oh , Simone get your mind out of the gutter!), water lily, dragonflies, and duck, colored them with my Copics, and cut them out. I used pop dots to give everything dimension. I pulled out my handy dandy sewing machine and went stitch crazy! (Can you tell we watch A LOT of Blues Clues in my house? ) I hand cut my sun and stitched that too. My scene was now complete.......and yes, this card DID take many hours to create........I am definitely not a speedy stamper! Hope you like it!

High Hopes........again!

Yes......another High Hopes image! I just love these bunnies! I used my Prisma pencils and mineral spirits to color them in. I used SU! Kraft paper, Basic Grey purple paper, and SU! some kind of blue....soft sky maybe? The ribbon was in my stash. The sentiment was created with Karen Foster's snap stamps. I added a Dew Drop to the o and in the corner.

Well, I did go shopping at Archivers and bought my good blogging buddy some goodies for her birthday.........as well as sipping on my Starbucks! Then at 11:30 A.M. reality returned when the kids got home from school. Kyle complained about his throat and ears. We went to the doctor but he didn't have an ear infection or strep. Doc felt he has a virus, swollen glands indicated that. Nothing we can do except let it run its course.

I will have some cards soon for Sweet n' Sassy stamps as well as some blog candy! Check back! Have a great day!

High Hopes Easter!

I just love these High Hopes Images! I colored the image in with my Copics. The sentiment is from last years SU! Easter set. I also used the eggs and chick from that set and cut them out. I then put them on pop dots for dimension. I just bought some of this pom pom ribbon in about a dozen different colors! (Did I ever mention I have a little problem? I can't ever buy just one! What happens if I need it in a different color and I don't have it? I know, sick huh? ) Anyway, used the trusty sewing machine too!
Can you see my little popped up chick and eggs?

Have the day off tomorrow! I am heading to Starbucks and Archivers to buy a present for a good blogging buddy's birthday.........I can't wait to just shop in peace with no children and sip my latte! Have a great day! : )

My Favorite Things....and a busy weekend!

A couple of weeks ago I went scrappin with the girls. I love doing that because then we can swap images. Sharon over at Dew Drop In Designs has many of the My Favorite Things stamps. I stamped and colored several of these images. If you haven't noticed, there is a trend here with this paper. It is KI Memories.....AGAIN! I am REALLY trying not to buy a bunch of new stamps right now or paper, or anything else until I use up some of my stuff. My stash will definitely outlive me! LOL! Anyway, many moons ago I had gone to a specialty stamp store and purchased these colored crystal glazes. They come in tubes and dry glossy and raised, just like crystal effects. I'm not sure you can seen it in the picture, but the puddle is glossy and "wet" looking, as well as the raindrops. I added rhinestones to the bottom of her raincoat, and some pretty ribbon.
My hubby was in charge of planning our "Date Night" this past Saturday. I know he had been looking into a movie or a restaurant around the house. Turns out I was completely wrong! He didn't tell me until we were close enough for me to figure it out. He drove downtown.....which NEVER happens, cuz he hates downtown! He took me to Dave & Busters. Which was kind of strange because it is an arcade for grownups. Ya know, liquor, pizza, and video games.......A LOT of video games. Now, I am not really a video kind of gal.........so why did he take me there? It was opening night of their new comedy club. When we were dating we loved going to comedy clubs! There was dinner, drinks, and 2 really funny comedians! It was such a fun evening! I am so glad that after almost 15 years of marriage, he still take the time to plan evenings with me.........and leave occasional perverted comments on my blog! LOL! : ) Hope everyone had a great weekend!
