Rise & Shine FOR SALE!

Happy Friday everyone! I wanted to share a LO with you and let you know that Noel's newest kit, Rise & Shine, is up for sale today!!! Click HERE to purchase! Also, if you order this weekend (Friday-Monday) you will get a free sheet of KI lace cardstock. If you purchase 2 kits, or spend over $75, you will get 3 sheets!!

It is just another amazing kit jam packed with goodies! Here is one of the LO's I created with it!

I didn't have a birthday part for Cortney this year, since she turned 14. ( I think I am feeling a wee bit guilty about it too!) But, my FIL's birthday, Cort's birthday, and Mother's Day were all within a couple of weeks from each other. Sooooo, we combined all 3 and celebrated!

Aren't those cuppy cakes the cutest? Fellow DT member, Michelle Lanning made these! You can find more in her Etsy shop, here!
***Cort had her art fair last night. Every single student made several samples of artwork to display, no matter how severe their disability. Walking into that gym was amazing! So colorful! Every corner, every inch, ceiling included, was covered with artwork. And guess which dumb dumb forgot her camera? ugh!
And my son? He got to bring home 4 baby chicks last night. He had the pleasure of listening to them chirp allllllllll night long! I did take some pics of them......they are pretty darn cute!
Wishing you all a very happy Memorial weekend! : )

Crafty Secret's Challenge

Pammy Jo is the host over the Crafty Secret's forum. This week's challenge was to use circles! I pulled out my Gardening Creative Scraps for a quick card. The paper here is by Graphic 45. I cut the circle with my Nesties. Certainly not my best card.......but this week my mojo has flown out the window! I have been so busy with all the end of the year stuff that my creative/computer time has been almost nothing. School is almost out.....so in a couple of more weeks maybe......... : )

Ugly tie day at school today! Off to raid hubby's closet......pretty sure there is an ugly tie there!
Have a wonderful Thursday!

Ahhhhh, Summer has Finally Arrived!

Yippee! It is finally warm and summer like here in the Windy City! It is about freaking time! We took our pool cover off last night and filled up the pool. I think we might have made it another summer without having to replace the pool liner! Whew! So hopefully, if the warm temps stick around, my dear girl will get to splash and swim around........pure heaven for her!

I was in a coloring mood a couple of weeks ago and colored this sweet High Hopes image. (used my Copics!) To get some texture to the grass I took an old wash rag and took my dark green Copic and colored the washrag. Take some blending solution and "wet" the part of the rag you just colored. The dark green will transfer to the image!

Once again, I can't for the life of me can't remember who makes the DP. (Bad stamper, I know! I really need a better system for writing down my supplies while creating. If you could see the tornado I become when I AM creating you would totally understand......... : )
****Yes, had crazy hair day yesterday! The funniest kid I had was a boy in my room with blue hair, tons of gel, straws sticking out everywhere......and.......are you ready for this one? A red plastic cup attached to the side of his head! There was so much goop in his hair that the cup stayed put alllllll day! It was hysterical! Today is Hawaiian day........
Have a fantastic Wednesday!!!!!!

1944

I am sitting here with a smile on my face, thinking about all the good things in my life. A good dinner with my hubby and kids. Making fruit smoothies in our blender. Watching TV shows that make me giggle. Snuggling and reading out loud to Kyle. Tucking my girl in bed. Life is definitely enjoying all of those little things...... : )

On top of all that goodness, I just received Noel's newest kit in the mail today! NO, it isn't this kit below........it is THIS kit that isn't being sold to Friday! It is called Rise and Shine! Let me just tell you, it is such a fun happy kit! All of Noel's kits are fabulous and this new one is no exception! So I can't wait to get my butt upstairs and play! Hope to have some sneak peeks tomorrow!

Before I leave you though, I want to share a heritage LO of my MIL and her mom. I used Noel's Penny Arcade kit for this. It contains such beautiful soft papers and embellishments. I punched my own flowers, did a bit of sewing and distressing. I used an angel girl from Crafty Secret's Childhood Image & Journal Notes, to perch on top of the flowers. I also used my JustRite stamp for the sentiment.

I have some exciting news to share with you! I have become a part of Alex and Melissa's DT called Scrap & Stamp. Every other week the girls will host a different challenge. I am honored to be a part of this talented group! Go ahead and give them a visit!
WHEW! That was a long post! Thanks for sticking with me! : )
Have a wonderful Tuesday!!!!!!!

Greetings...

Why oh why does Monday come so fast? It feels like it was just Friday! Such a busy weekend we had! Saturday my sister, my mom, and I went to see my soon to be 89 year old grandma. It was such a sweet visit filled with memories and laughs! My Gram was in good spirits that day. Afterwards my hubby and I had a date. We had a lovely dinner and saw a movie at one of those "fancy" movie theaters. (You know the ones that serve beer/wine, and have love seats?) We saw Angels and Demons. Sort of a suspenseful, scary, thriller with a few twists.

Yesterday I got a scrappy page done for my Soulology work for Erika Martin. For some reason the LO took an extra long time to get done. (Which seems to be pretty typical these days!) After that page was done, I made a wedding card for Cort's teacher....which I will post later this week) And that's it! Two projects.......how pathetic!

I did create this Crafty Secret's card a couple of weeks ago and hadn't posted it yet. I used the Home Sweet Home set and my Copics for the main image. The paper is the citrus pack by DCWV .

I used yarn around the image and tied this pretty beaded flower to it! ( I Love the less bulky look of yarn sometimes!)

Well, off I go to get ready for work! Today is "twin" day! The other 5th grade teachers and I are dressing alike....so I guess we are triplets today! : ) (See the fun you have when you work in a school? Just wait until Crazy Hair Day! LOL!)

My Birthday Girl.....

I took this picture of my girl on her birthday, right after she got home from school. Let me just tell you how blown away by her teacher and aides' sweetness! She was wearing this crown, had balloons tied to her chair, and tons of presents. Her teacher and a few of the aides bought her an outfit, books on tape, stickers, and a new backpack. They also had all the kids in the class make a birthday card for her. I was near to tears helping her open everything......the kindness that has been bestowed upon my girl.......just literally makes my heart swell. How lucky we are to have found such a phenomenal school.

I used Noel's Lovely Days kit for this LO. The butterflies were cut using my Spellbinders. I added a few pearls to their bodies too.

I know most 14 year old girls don't wear paper crowns anymore...... She is so joyful wearing her princess crown! It couldn't have meant any more to hear if it came bearing diamonds!

Have a wonderful Sunday! The sun is shining here, so I guess I should soak up some of that sunshine! : )
