Scrap & Stamp Saturday!

This week's Scrap & Stamp Challenge was to create a "Water LO using 2 DP and a stamped image and 3 embellishments. My paper is from Noel Mignon's Five Foot Two (sold out!) & Eyes of Blue kit. (6 left!) The stamps I used are from Crafty Secret's Sea Side set. To create my "beach" I simply tore strips of paper, coated them with texture paste and sprinkled sand. Once dry, I shook off the excess, and inked the edges a bit. I layered them, glued them to my page and tucked some of my "seashells" in between.

The title was created the same way......Maya Road chipboard letter + texture paste + sand= cool title!
For your chance to win some scrapbooking goodies, go to the Scrap & Stamp site and link your "Water" LO there! Can't wait to see what you come up with! : )

Today Kyle goes off to Boy Scout camp for a week. The poor kid is a nervous wreck. He keeps telling me he will be fine once he gets there. He had fun last year, so I am sure he will be fine.
We also have our annual block party today. I live right outside Chicago in a town very similar to Mayberry. Everyone knows everyone. People still help each other, wave to each other, and it has been a wonderful place to raise our kids. (And everyone is extremely kind to Cortney. The kids try so hard to include her in everything! That alone just makes my heart swell!) So I need to get baking and such! Have a FANTASTIC Saturday!
I apologize for not visiting much this week. I haven't been on the computer much, except to do my posts. Next week I will be hopping around a bit more! : )

I've been a Bad Blogger!

My hubby is home this week, and let me just tell ya.....it has really put a crimp in my stamping time! LOL! I haven't been blogging much, or creating, but I have been spending some quality time with my sweeties. Wednesday, Kyle and I spent the entire day at Great America. It was pretty empty so we were able to get on the rides multiple times! Yesterday, Brian and I swam with the kids and then decided to make a fancy dinner. Sometimes, we think we are "top chefs!" We love to watch Food Network and we like to try new recipes sometimes. So we cooked our Peach Melba Pork Chops, set the table outside with candles, Dean Martin, and a bottle of wine. What a nice way to have a family dinner..........*sigh* Love these summer nights........ : )

Since you probably came to see a card and not my personal life......here you go! LOL! This is JustRite's Friendship set. I stamped the image in Versamark and sprinkled it with clear embossing powder. I added some red pearls for "apples." I cut a bit of grass for around the tree. I used DCWV Citrus stack paper. I also used my Nesties.

Here is a picture of our Peach Melba Pork Chops. (OK, I still need to work on my "plating!" )

Have a great Friday!!!!!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!!!

JustRite Blog Hop!

Happy Thursday to you! Are you enjoying the JustRite Blog Hop so far?! Are you just loving the samples of the new sets coming out soon? : )

I am probably the world's biggest procrastinator......I am usually cranking out Christmas cards on or about December 23rd! But not this year! No sireeee! Since JustRite has come out with some FABULOUS new Christmas sets, I will be happily coloring in these sweet images and making some EARLY cards with 'em! Here is a sneak peek at one of the new sets called, Old Fashioned Christmas. Could these snowmen be any sweeter?

They were colored in with Copics and white flock was added to their hats and scarves. I did outline their bodies with a Sakura glue pen and sprinkled some SU! glitter. I wanted to add a wee bit of color behind them, so I used the Copic color B000 and my blending pen to give a hint of blue. Under their feet I used C1 and my blending pen to created their shadow.

If you like this image, then you will be crazy about the entire set!

Be sure to mark your calendars for August 17th, when the JustRite team will be hosting an official Christmas in August Blog Hop!

Party Time

Today is my niece Hannah's 7th birthday and this was the card I sent her.......unfortunately, she has brown hair and I colored blond???? Hopefully, she will overlook this! : ) It is a High Hopes image that my MIL stamped for me. When I am in the mood to color these images are perfect!

I used my Copics, October Afternoon paper, Papertrey ribbon and buttons layered with pearls, and a bunch of Nesties. I even did some sewing.....

Well, it turns out Kyle did have his tooth pulled. I am glad the dentist was able to do it, instead of having to see an oral surgeon. He is now ready for those braces on the 27th. He and I spent the day together. We shopped, had lunch together, and he even came to our school's "sit in." (Haven't heard anything yet......because I left before it was over. The teachers were predicting they would be there until midnight or so....) I am so glad that Kyle still likes spending time with his family. He is such a good hearted, affectionate kid. I am lucky to have him. : )
And with that.....I bid you a good day! : )

Bitten by the Bug Challenge

This week's challenge over at Bitten by the Bug was to use the ring from the Mickey & Friend's cartridge. Of course the obvious choice was to make some type of wedding or anniversary card. : )

I used mostly Making Memories "stuff" for this card. I included some stitching and lots of glitter to the ring. I also included a Papertrey satin ribbon along with a Jenni Bowlin button.

Hope you head HERE to see what the other DT gals came up with.......and maybe, just maybe you'd like to play along?!!! : )

Kyle has the dentist this morning. He is supposed to have a tooth pulled before he gets his braces on. I am not sure if they will attempt that this morning or not......we'll have to see. Later today, the teachers are "camping" out in front of our school. Our board can't seem to agree on a contract that everyone is happy with. So we are going to show our support. We are all bringing our kids in hopes that they see who this affects. I am crossing my fingers that things get resolved soon......
Have a wonderful Monday!!!!!

Today is a "Pool" Kind of Day!

Since today is a beautiful sun shining kind of day......(and believe me, they have been few and far between), I am posting a summery kind of card! This is a new stamp by Impression Obsession. I purchased it at Craft Fancy a few weeks ago. I colored it with my Copics. To get the texture you see on the towel, I took a wash rag and my blending solution and dabbed at the towel.

See this cool sand? It is by a new company started right here in Illinois called Mudd Puddles. You can purchase a variety of different "sands" that he mixes up and sells in little pots. The glue is already mixed in, so you just spread it and let it dry. I love the texture it lends to the card.
Paper is by SU! and October Afternoon. I did some stitching and distressing too. The starfish was a chipboard piece that was covered as well.
Hope the sun is shining where you are.......Have a very happy Sunday!!!!
