Sweet 'n Sassy's Blog Hop!

Sweet 'n Sassy is hosting a blog hop that started on Wednesday and ends today. We were to feature scriptures in our cards. I chose this sweet birdhouse. It is a digi set called Home Tweet Home. I colored the image with my Copics. I added texture to the grass with blending solution and a wash rag. I created (another) banner for the scripture. I tucked it into the "overall" hardware and felt flowers. (What the heck do you call those things on overalls? ) The paper is by October Afternoon.

I added a grey shadow around image to help ground it.

This is the end of my guest design spot for Sweet 'n Sassy. I have so enjoyed working with this sweet and very talented design team! Thanks so much for having me this month! : )

Off to School I Go....

Today marks the official end to summer........at least for me! I start school today, it is cool, and rainy outside. I am actually ready to go back, meet my new students, and get back into a routine again. Brian and I finished painting my room yesterday. It is really, really pink. Lots of pink. But my walls are bare and by the time all the things get hung back up and decorated it is going to look great! My MIL bought me a chandelier for my early birthday present, and Brian is going to hang that up today while I'm at school. : )

On to my card.....these are a couple of cards I created using JustRite's Thinking of You set. This is such a great set to color! I colored both images in with my Copics. I used Flower Soft on one of them and glitter on the other.

There is some embossing and satin ribbon on both. I distressed the edges a bit with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Guess, I better get a move on......time to get the 7th grader up and get myself ready for today!
Have a WONDERFUL day! : )

Holy Cow! Life is Busy!

WOW! I can't believe how the this week is flying by! Kyle and I start school tomorrow, Brian is off this week, we are still working on painting my scrap room, hanging curtains in the hallway, cleaning vents, light fixtures etc. We are going to start painting the pink in my scrap room today.....hurray! Pretty soon, things can start going back to their places, and hopefully, I can start creating again. Until then everything is on hold. So I just wanted to pop in briefly say hello, and let ya know what I am up to! : )

This card was created using a digi stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy. It is called Soar Above. I thought it was a perfect image for a little boy's birthday card! The DP is by Making Memories. I added flock to the clouds, popped one up on a pop dot, and added crystal effects to the windows. The plane was colored with Copics, cut out, and popped up also! I created a banner for the back of the plane. : )

Sweet 'n Sassy is having their Blog Hop today going all the way through to Friday. Stop Here to start the hop!
Have a great day!!!

Vintage Cornet

I have been elbow deep (still) in paint, wallpaper, and big ole messes! It is very difficult to create anything when half of your stuff is in the basement, spare bedroom, piled in the hallway etc. So I guess I've come to the realization that until my scrap room is done, I am taking a break from creating. Otherwise I will be making myself crazy! Before the room was torn apart, I made a couple of Victorian Cornets. This was one of them. I am in love with this color combo.....lime green and turquoise blue. I used a Craft Secret's Cotton Scrap and picked up various items from Michaels. I adore that peacock! It isn't quite the traditional Christmas palette....... : )
(This item is available in my store, Art a la Carte.)

Love this beaded fringe!

Well off to "teach" my card's class, finish painting woodwork, stop at school later to get my classroom done......so much to do............
Have a FABULOUS Monday!!!
