Spring......

The last few days here have been beautiful........minus the congested coughing kid! The temps have been in the 60's and the sun has been shining....until today. A cold front is moving in and the temps are supposed to drop back down to the 30's. With snow. Snow? Really? Come on! Chicago! Mmmmmmph!

Since I am currently in denial that winter is returning......I created a Spring card! I used a Crafty Secret's Creative Scrap. I love these beautiful soft images! I love that all the coloring is already done.........such a time saver! I did add glitter to the image........because everything is better with glitter! LOL! The paper is Melissa Frances, Papertrey Ink, and SU! The ribbon is PT and the felt flowers are by SU! I did a bit of machine stitching too.....for that homemade feel!

...................*sigh*........................I love glitter.................... : )
I am heading back to work......Cort back to school. I know it is Friday......and I only have a half day. But she is feeling a bit better, and she misses school. She misses her teacher and her friends! So today we will test the waters. Her congestion is not totally gone......hopefully with all of the meds she is on, it will be soon.
I appreciate you stopping by for a visit! Thank you for all of your prayers for Cortney. It warms my heart! Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Clean & Simple

Most of you know that I am generally NOT a "clean & simple" kind of gal. I usually love to include lots of "stuff" on my cards......but lately my mood has been to create uncluttered....."unstuffed" kind of cards. Maybe I am experimenting a bit? Maybe. I had this Prima flower laying on my desk, along with some of these scraps from my Crafty Secrets card a couple of posts ago.....and WA LA! This was my super easy card! Not much to it.....pretty self-explanatory! Now don't worry, my "style" really hasn't changed.....I still like a lot of stuff! : )

I am home for another day with my girl. I thought she was getting better......but was still coughing quite a bit....that yucky congested kind of cough. Last night she appeared to be better....so hopefully today will be a better day. The sun is shining here again and the temps are supposed to reach 70 today......makes being home much more pleasant! Of course true to Chicago style, by Sunday the temps will plummet back down to the 30's with snow! ICK!

Have a wonderful Thursday! THANKS for stopping by!!!!! : )

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy Wednesday! & Happy "Hump" Day! & Happy St. Patrick's Day!!! I have a JustRite card to share with you today. It has a lot of "white" space.........which I kind of like! I used Papertrey cardstock. I scored the green paper diagonally with my Scor Pal. I backed it with PT's gold paper. The JR stamp set is from the Favorite Occasions and Borders set. I stamped it in black Momento ink. It was colored in with Copics and my gold Spica pen. The circles were cut with my Spellbinder's dies in 3 sizes. I added some ribbon I've had in my stash forever and a few rhinestones.

I am home again today with my girl. She is feeling better, but thought I'd like her to be home one more day before she heads back to school. She is on antibiotic, the nebulizer, Claritin, and a nasal spray! The kid is like a "walking" pharmacy! But seriously, thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes.......it warms my heart.........truly. : )

Still Home......

Good morning and happy Tuesday to you! The sun is shining and the birds are chirping here.......spring has officially peeked its head here in Chicago! Unfortunately, my girl is still home sick. I was a bit aggravated yesterday waiting for the doctor to call me for a pulomonologist therapist. By 6 last night, they told me they were "having trouble" finding one. Really? Since 11 AM? So no therapist. We went back to the doctor this morning who said her lungs are clear, it is all upper respiratory. She was put on Claritin and a nasal spray. Hopefully, this will make her feel better.

Anyway, today's card is a new set by Crafty Secrets called Ladies Hat Club. These ladies are so cute and quirky! They were colored in with Copics and then cut out with my Spellbinder's circle dies. The paper is by Papertrey Ink. I coffee stained my twill and added 2 Jenni Bowlin buttons.

Hope your Tuesday is TERRIFIC!!!

Digi Lift....

Good morning! I am home today with my girl.......she is pretty sick. She has been fighting a virus for the last 2 months, has had 2 rounds of antibiotics, and just started her 3rd. She did go for a chest X-ray on Saturday which was clear. But unfortunately, she is still coughing a lot and is very congested. Since she is in a wheelchair and not very mobile, she worries me. I did start the nebulizer and that seems to be helping. The doc is supposed to refer her for pulmonology therapy. So hopefully today, we can get that set up.

My guys had a great time at the waterpark. It was a good bonding experience for them both. It couldn't make me happier!

Anyway I have a LO to share of my silly guy! He and I were making some Christmas crafts and he decided to "pose" with his snowman. This kid just cracks me up with some of his expressions! The Noel Mignon DT's assignment this week was to "lift" THIS adorable LO by Cheryl Ashcraft . (Her digi LO's are amazing!!!) I used Noel's Dear Santa kit. I did recreate his little snowman with a circle punch, mica flakes, felt, buttons, and seed beads. I also altered the photo in Photoshop. I duplicated the layer and converted it to black and white. I used the eraser tool to "erase" the snowman to reveal the color underneath. I love this effect!

He is pretty cute......if I do say so myself! : )

Don't forget to pre-order the new kit by Noel, Sonoma County!!! Sneak peeks are HERE!
Off to take care of my girl........ : ) Have a wonderful Monday!
