JustRite and Inchie Arts!

Good morning to you all! I am glad today is Friday! I get to dress up like Simon today from Alvin and the Chipmunks. The students absolutely love when the teachers dress up! OF course let me tell you.....it is hard to have much authority when one is dressed as a chipmunk! LOL!

Every Friday JustRite has a challenge and this week the challenge is two fold. We were to use this sketch AND use an Inchie square. These squares are wonderful at giving dimension to a card! Scroll down for more info about Inchie Squares. : )
Here is my take on the sketch. Apparently, I have a "thing" for mittens these days! I seem to gravitate to them! I added faux stitching to my Inchie Square to help "ground" my mittens. The mittens are from the new CLING set called Sparky and Friends!
Here is some info about Inchie Squares!

Inchie Arts offers three different sizes of the highest quality artist grade matteboard squares: 1” (Inchie), 1-1/2” (Inchie +) and 2” (Twinchie). All of their products are fade resistant, acid free, lignin free and solid core color through and through. The material is designed to receive whatever art medium (wet or dry) you use in your coloring and embellishments - from stamping to watercolors, chalks, inks, pens, markers, stains and more. They are available in black, dark gray, light gray, wheat, dark cream, ivory and white; as individual packages or assortment packs
Be sure to visit the JustRite blog for the other DT gals' projects! They are all fabulous!
Have a great weekend and a fabulous Halloween!

Halloween Ornaments!

Good morning! My house has been battling the sickies this week....Kyle is on the mend....Brian is still not feeling well, and yesterday I had a massive migraine. Surprisingly, I feel 100% better today! Cort has been OK.......thank goodness! Hopefully this nasty virus is just about gone!

Halloween is Sunday......I can hardly believe it! On Friday, the teachers dress up and my 5th grade colleagues decided we should dress up as the Chipmunks. I am Simon. So I have part of my costume all ready to go...... : ) I'll be sure to take pictures of how ridiculous I look!

Today I have a couple of ornaments I created using bottle caps, Crafty Secret's Creative Scrap images, and Crystal Effects. I punched a small hole at the top of the bottle cap with my Cropidile. I found a circle punch that was the perfect circle and punched out the CS image. I added black Stickles to the edges of the circles. I set it aside and let it dry. I then placed it on a foam circle inside the bottle cap. I added an even coating of Crystal Effects and let that dry. I just added a ribbon hanger a bit of twine and that's it! : ) I have a little black glittery Halloween tree that these were perfect for! : )
Sorry for the wonky ribbon! ; )
My husband tells me that our house is perfect for the fall......our living room is a rich, warm golden yellow and it opens up to our kitchen that is a cranberry red color. My house is small.....but cozy. Here is my hutch in the kitchen. I don't have a formal dining room....so when I entertain, people eat here.
............and my living room mantel. You can see the walls reflected in the large mirror above the fireplace.
Thanks for allowing me to share a bit of my home with you! Happy Thursday! One more day closer to the weekend!

JustRite's 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop 8!

Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops 8! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps! And don’t forget that JustRite has some Christmas stamps in their newly released CLING line of stamp sets -- you can find them HERE. This week, the designers joining the JustRite design team are the Flower Soft and The Shabby Tea Room challenge blog design teams! So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!

My card uses the mitten from the new CLING set called Sparky the Snowman. I wanted two mittens so I stamped on a transparency, laid my card stock on top of it and rubbed my hand over it. I then lifted up the paper and had reverse image! I paper pieced the mitten, added glitter, and little pom poms to the wrist. : ) I then layered my images over tan felt cut with Spellbinder's mitten die. I stamped the sentiment in brown Memento ink, added red line tape to either side and sprinkled glitter over it. For a finishing touch, I added a doily, some vintage lace, and a some Glimmer Misted seam binding.
