Using up Leftovers!

Good morning and a VERY happy Friday to you! I have a question for you......what do you do with all of your little scraps and punched shapes etc....that you don't use for your immediate project? Do you throw them away? Or do you tuck them away somewhere with the intention of using them in the future.....and then never do? I have a little basket that all of my extra Cricut cuts, punched shapes etc.....go into. This little basket stays on my desk at all times and I use it constantly because it is staring at me alllllll the time as I work! Sometimes when I look at all the pieces jumbled together like that, inspiration strikes! Maybe a color combo I wouldn't have thought of......or putting pieces together, I ordinarily wouldn't have put together. I will take a picture this weekend of it and show you what I mean.

The card today uses all left overs. From the butterfly, to this scrap of paper from K & Company that had this lovely saying on it. The doily, the pink scalloped card I had bought in a kit many years ago, and the ribbon. The only items I grabbed to complete this card were the rhinestones.
An easy card......quick to put together......and all made with leftovers! ; )
And yes........glitter, rhinestones.....and a butterfly.....enter me into rehab now!
Quiet weekend ahead.......I can't wait....no chasing, no commitments......just my family, my scrapbook room, and a little bit of rest for this weary gal.
Have a wonderful weekend in whatever you are doing!

Confirmation Day!

This past Sunday, my son, Kyle made his Confirmation. Even though my guy is 14.......he likes getting my homemade cards. Which I think is sort of sweet! So I whipped up a card using a Papertrey set, some Pink Paislee paper and gold embossing powder. I also did a bit of airbrushing and created a shadowbox effect with my oval Spellbinders.
I didn't want to "girly" it up too much, so I added a small piece of a doily and gold cording. And would you believe I DIDN'T use glitter?!!! GASP! However, I DID add a couple of navy blue rhinestones. I think navy rhinestones are acceptable for a boy's card........right? ; )
Here is my "growing up waaaaayyy too fast" guy! He is officially a head taller than me. (Not that that is difficult to do...) His voice is cracking less and sounding less Peter Bradyish all the time. ; )
I love this candid of him finding his mother very funny! Yep......I am one funny gal!
If you haven't left a comment for my post below, be sure to do so......JustRite is picking 3 winners on Friday for their big shopping sprees!
Thanks for letting me share today!

On to my little brown sack! I used the Spellbinder's Charm dies and JustRite's Charmed stamp set. As you already know, I adore these little bags! I used a new line of papers by Pink Paislee called House of Three. It is a bit brighter than I normally gravitate to, but I have to say I like how it turned out. It seems happy to me! Even if you do need sunglasses to see it! LOL! I stamped the heart charm in Versamark and sprinkled clear embossing powder over it. After heat setting it, I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist in Lime, die cut it, and then inked the edges a bit in brown. The sentiment was stamped in pink and was cut out with a circular Spellbinder's die. I added layers of paper using foam circles.
I love the look of the clear embossing powder and the various Glimmer Mists I own. Ok.....let's be honest...... A LOT of Glimmer Mists I own! ; )

This is a perfect sized little note to throw in someone's lunch, coworker's desk, or maybe my hubby?
I love adding dimension to my projects with foam circles.......I think I should have stock in the foam circle company.......oh! And maybe the glitter companies too! ; )

Want to see all of the fabulous projects this very talented DT came up with? Be sure to head on over to the other gal's blogs.......be sure to leave a comment! Maybe you will be one of the lucky winners chosen!!! ; )

Crafty Secret's Birthday Blog Hop!

Good morning to you! I am happy to share a little project for today's Crafty Secret's Birthday Blog Hop! I used two sets to complete my little ensemble: Photo Studio and Cupcake Party. I made a card and a little treat basket filled with Hershey Kisses. It could also hold a gift card as well!
For the butterfly I used Cupcake Party. It was stamped on book paper and again on vellum using Versamark and silver embossing powder. I glued the two pieces in the center so the vellum could separate from the bottom piece for added dimension. I added two buttons, used a bit of glossy accents, and sprinkled it with clear glitter. The negative was stamped from Photo Studio using a transparency and StazOn. I love that I can use it to layer over the designer paper!
I used a Jenni Bowlin chipboard button under the butterfly. I sprayed it with Shimmerz Spritz in Silver Foil, inked the edges in brown, added glossy accents, and sprinkled it with clear glitter.
I hand cut the banner. I used my Sakura glue pen to add a small amount of glue to the perimeter of the banner and added silver glitter.
The box was created using a Big Shot die cut from SU! The papers used are from Pink Paislee. The swirl was stamped with Versamark and sprinkled with silver embossing powder. And again, the banner was hand cut. Silver glitter was added to the banner as well as the Flaps of the box. I added some candy tied with tulle to place in the box.
Be sure to pop on over to the other DT's blogs! Their projects are absolutely stunning!

Have a wonderful day!
