Crafty Secrets & Eclectic Paperie Blog Hop!

Good morning to you! Today is going to be a FUN blog hop with the Eclectic Paperie girlies!! Yay!!!
Both Eclectic Paperie and Crafty Secrets will be giving away prizes. A total of six prizes all together! You can find out more about the prizes on the Heartwarming Vintage and Eclectic Paperie blogs. (linked below). The more DT blogs you visit and leave comments on, the more you increase your chances of winning one of the 6 prizes! Winners will be announced on Monday!

We had a pretty open challenge......to use shabby or distressed. So I decided on this adorable new stamp set called, Little Girl. I colored this sweet girl in with Copics and did a bit of paper piecing on her shirt and skirt. I stamped the balloon and filled it in with glitter and then cut it out. I attached thin string to it so my girl could hold on to her glittery balloon! The paper is by Girl's Paperie. I took a 12 x 12 sheet of shaped paper and cut it into fourths and then folded it in half. (It kind of looks like the state of Illinois, doesn't it? ; ) I added a bit of vintage lace, scrunched seam binding, and a button tied with twine. I "grounded" this gal with hearts cut out using my Spellbinder's dies.
Be sure to check out the other gals' blogs and be sure to leave comments along the way to increase your chances of winning one of the 6 fabulous prizes!!! : )

Hello Thursday!

Good morning and happy mid week to you all! Today is a special day in Provo Craft world......it is new cartridge release day! I love, love, love seeing what new cartridges are coming out! I got to play with one called Elegant Edges! Let me just tell you, if you are a stamper this is a perfect cartridge for you. Why? It is a cartridge of ALL frames! In all different shapes and sizes....round, square, oval.........and in addition to the frames? Lots and lots of borders!! This is a MUST HAVE cartridge!!! : )

My card today uses Elegant Edges to create a frame around my cutie pie lemon. The stamp is by Imaginisce and was colored with Copic markers. I used glossy accents on it and cut it out. The paper I used is a new line of paper by Imaginisce called, Berrylicious. I added glitter, twine, rhinestones, and some pom pom ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed your sneak into this fabulous new cartridge!
Have a wonderful day!!!

Happy Birthday Kellie!

Today the JustRite designers have a special post to share with you! Today is Kellie's birthday! So we are holding a birthday blog hop in her honor! Kellie is such a sweet caring person and a wonderful "boss" to work for! I have had the honor of working for Kellie for several years now and am so glad I've gotten to know her as a person! : )

My birthday card for Kellie uses the JustRite sets, Elegant Frames and You Inspire Me. The birdhouse was cut using my Gypsy and April Shower's Cartridge. The paper is by Pink Paislee. I added a bit of lace to the roof with glossy accents and while it was still wet I sprinkled glitter over it and added 3 pearls to the roof. I stamped the border in green, cut it out by hand, added a bit of glossy accents to the edge and added more glitter! I used this as the "entrance" to the birdhouse. The sentiment was stamped in brown (Memento Ink) and the banner was handcut. I curved it around a pencil to add a bit of dimension to it. The heart was cut using the Cricut, edges were inked, glossy accents added, and glitter sprinkled! I layered it over the green border, added the banner, and tied seam binding around the front. I cut a butterfly from my Cricut and added that to the birdhouse.

I even snuck in a JustRite set, Elegant Frames, at the bottom right hand corner......I stamped the corner in brown using the set. : )

Happy Birthday to you sweet Kellie!!!

Using my Imagine......

Good morning to you! I have a card to show you today that I submitted for publication but it didn't get picked up. I used my Imagine and the Yummy Cartridge to create the cup of coffee. I added a piece of doily just under the coffee and inked the edges a bit. I used liquid applique on the steam and while it was still hot I sprinkled glitter on it. The tag was cut using my Sentimental's cartridge. The stamp is by Papertrey Ink. I used paper from Melissa Frances and Papertrey Ink. I also used some vintage lace, seam binding, and a vintage button. The two pieces behind the coffee cup were leftovers from cuts I had made with my Cricut. They were in the "bucket" and were used here.....unfortunately, I can't remember the cartridges I used to make them. Hope you enjoy my "reject!" ; )
Just a quick post today! Off to work, therapy, then church tonight! Busy, busy! : )

A Tour......

Some of you have asked how I store my scraps and such that I use on my paper bags. I thought I'd take some pics of my room to show you how I store things. One thing I find with my scraproom is it is constantly evolving and changing. My needs have changed, which means some storage had to be tweaked. So what works today may not necessarily work tomorrow. Here is my little scrap organizer. Now, I don't keep everything. But I do save my extra Cricut cuts, die cuts that at the last minute I didn't need, and certain stamped pieces. If I truly don't think I'll need it or use it in the future it goes in the trash!
The top container contains all of my little tags that I cut with the Sentimental's cartridge. I tend to use tags A LOT! Can't really see them....but they're in there! ; ) The middle compartment are my little frames, butterflies etc. And the bottom compartment is for my longer pieces.
Here is a close up of the middle compartment.
At one time these 3 six foot shelves used to be loaded with all stamps.....now it mostly my beloved Cricut cartridges! Many of my stamps are packed away and at some point will probably be sold. I keep many things at my fingertips and within easy reach. These are the items I use constantly! Copics, glitter, glue, twine etc.
To the left I have my work station. It houses my printer, Cricut, Imagine, sewing machine, and usually my little lap top.
This is where my little TV is. I don't usually "watch" it, I just listen.....but I like the company it gives me!
I have many of my Glimmer Mists, ribbon, Smooch Spray, brads, hardware etc housed here. My husband just hung the smaller shelf above it to display my cards and the magazines I've been published in. (Don't laugh......it has only been 3........but that is all about to change! I know some of you gals have been published numerous times........and probably need 6 shelves to house your magazines! ; )
My closet has tons of stuff in it, but it was embarrassingly messy! I keep my seam binding, alterables, more ribbon etc in it. Someday I will be brave enough to post those!
Thanks for taking a short tour through my creative space!
