A Scrappy Page!

Since coming back from vacation, I've been fighting a cold.  Not a "fever, kick you in the butt" type of cold, but one that makes you feel lousy and tired, but still functional.  I am still going to work and running around here like a chicken, but by the time it is 9 O'clock, I am done.....stick a fork in me! Which means no crafting this week.  I am feeling a bit behind in assignments and that is not a good feeling! So hopefully, this stupid cold goes away soon!

I dug some pics out from last year's vacation and decided to scrap some of them.  I used the Life's a Beach cartridge and Fun in the Sun with my Cricut to cut everything on this LO.  I used glitter.......again.......on the waves and beach ball.  I couldn't resist...even if it was a boy's page!

I added a little crocheted doily to the center of my sun for interest along with a button filled with pearls.
Glitter.  I. Just. Can't. Help. Myself. ; )
I am looking forward to a somewhat quiet weekend......time for some crafting I hope. (fingers crossed!)
Thank you for stopping by!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Mother's Day is Around the Corner!

Yesterday was a good day. Cort asked her cute boyfriend to prom AND she passed her hearing test! She had failed it at school and I took her for a private screening. I was worried that this would be one more thing to add to our plates.....but thankfully, her hearing is normal!

I have a Mother's Day Card to share with you today that uses my Cricut, the Flower Shoppe Cartridge, and a fabulous sentiment stamp by My Craft Spot. Be sure to check out her store....she has such a fabulous variety of sentiment stamps! I also used some gorgeous silk ribbon from Stamp Simply by Sharon Johnson. I tend to make lumpy cards and this would be a bit more difficult to mail, but it's okay because some cards go with my gifts and are hand delivered to the recipient.  This is one of those cards! ; )
It was so heart warming to read your comments and e-mails.  I am so glad that I can share the lives of my family with you.  It means a lot to me! It is so great to be connected with you in a more personal way.  Sometimes you gals make me cry because you touch me so.....and other times you crack me up! ; ) Thank you for all of it!
HUGS!

Sharing some sweetness......

My girl decided to be a woman of 2012 and ask cutie pie Jimmy to the prom this year.  She had been practicing for several days to ask him........

You Tube Video
These moments are so huge for  me.  Her milestones have been far and wide....but when she has one it is that much sweeter.....her smile just lights up the room! (and "Jimbo's too!)

Crafty Secrets

I have a love of all things vintage and shabby. I think that is why I adore Crafty Secret's images so much. They are such beautiful stamps to work with and lend themselves to my shabby, glittery style. ; ) This image is part of the Love You Mother  set and was colored with Copic markers.  I added some crystal effects to the eggs and the bird.  While the bird was wet, I sprinkled a bit of coarse glitter by Martha Stewart.
I love these little plastic eggs you can buy in packages at Michaels. They are perfect for adding to a stick pin! Of course I gave it a dose of glitter before doing so!

Here is the set I used......... lovely right?

It is a busy week here.....Kyle has a doc appt after school today and Cort failed her hearing test at school, so she has a Sertoma appt. on Wednesday.  Never a dull moment here! ; )
Have a great day!!!

Chevron Stripes and Glassine Bags.....

Well it is back to the "real" world for all of us here in the Kovack household......with a return to our jobs, schoolwork, appointments etc. Is it wrong to feel a bit blue after a vacation? Because I did a teeny bit. Maybe it was the cloudy rainy weather here, or the fact that I just didn't want the vacation to end.....but I have to admit I wasn't quite so chipper about the arrival of Monday morning! I am sure one day back to work and it will be like I never left and the routine will settle back into place for all of us. : )

I have a mini tutorial to share with you today. I love glassine bags and bought tons of them off of Etsy awhile back. They are perfect for little treats or notes! I thought I'd jump right onto the Chevron stripe craze! I used JustRite's Chevron Stripe background stamp to create this little bag. I gave it a large flower cut using my Cricut.  The sentiment is from JustRite's Spring Rose Medallion's set.
Once I started making them, I couldn't stop!

Here is a peek at what I did!

Here is one more bag that I finished decorating.  It has a little note inside to give to a dear friend of mine! I am sure you will be seeing more of these in the future!

Hope your day is a happy day!!!

Did You Miss Me?

I sure missed all of you! My lil' family and I took a vacation to Florida and visited Univeral Studios and Bush Gardens! The trip was so fun and it is always nice to spend time with the family and create memories together. The kiddos are growing so fast and I have to admit I am a little sad coming back to "reality." ; )
Here is a little taste of what we saw......

One of the best things about Bush Gardens is the chance to get so close to the animals. It truly was a once in a lifetime experience!

I also had the opportunity to visit with my good friend Shantaie!  We hung out two days at Universal Studios and got to meet her sweet hubby and daughter!
Thanks for putting up with my lack of posts this week! Tomorrow things should be a bit back to normal! Thank you for popping by too!
