Spring...

As most of you know, I can't throw any of my extra Cricut cuts away! They start to pile up on my desk, until finally, they scream to me to use them! I decided to incorporate them with this sweet image from Crafty Secrets.   It is part of their Birds and Botanicals Jouraling Booklet.  The leaves were left over from the Heritage Cartridge, the flowers from Flower Shoppe, and the frame from Elegant Edges. I put them all together with the addition of a few feathers, tulle, a glittery egg, a bit of lace, pearls, and some embossing......and this is the end result!
I love for all angles to look pretty....so I added the pearl to hide the knot in the bow....
A glittery egg on a stick pin......

We have a busy weekend ahead of us.  Cortney has her first little modeling gig tomorrow! It is for a local business and an amazing  photographer......I will explain more after her pictures are done! ; ) We are also attending a wedding, and hopefully finding a bit of time to swim in our pool.  Although right now it is this lovely shade of green.......ick!
I hope you have a wonderful, restful Memorial weekend!
Hugs to all of you !

Flowers...

Happy "Hump" Day to you! My house has been in a bit of discord this week. Kyle is going through finals, and needless to say our house has been a bit stressed out over it. He only has a few more days and then he is off for the summer, and becomes an official sophomore!

I have a JustRite card to share with you.  It uses two of the new sets, Heart Scroll Background stamp and Botanical Medallions and Banners.   For the background, I heat embossed it using Versamark and white embossing powder.  I brayered it with two shades of purple and wiped off the excess with a tissue.  I distressed the edges a bit with brown ink.  I added this beautiful rhinestone trim from Sharon's Stamp Simply store. I took a bit of vellum and created a ruffle to tuck under the trim.
The flowers were also stamped in Versamark and embossed in white.  I pulled out my very dusty Twinkling H2O's and decided to play around a bit with them.  The sparkly leaves were done with the left over vellum and green H2O's.  I hand cut them and added them behind the popped up flower.  The sentiment is also from the Botanical Medallions set.  It was stamped in avocado on a little tag I had in my stash.  I attached it behind my popped up flower.
Summer is right around the corner.....just two more weeks of school!  I am looking forward to those more relaxed days with no homework, no finals, no clocks to punch! I am blessed to work in a job that allows me the summers off!
Have a wonderful day!

Hodge Podge....

Every now and then, I like to scrap about myself. I think it is important for my children and future grandchildren to have a glimpse at who I am as a person. I often wish my grandmother had left some things behind that would show me the kind of person she was when she was younger.  But she didn't, not a thing.  So I only know my Nonnie as my grandma, nothing more.

My LO today consists of a hodge podge of stuff I had on my desk.  Left over flowers, doilies, a journaling transparency, a banner punch......sequins. I am a very visual person, so if it's out, it will get used.  This is just a silly LO......nothing too deep or personal.  Just some things I am liking right now.
I love using Glimmer Mists! They add such a fun texture to LO's! The flower and leaves were cut using Flower Shoppe.....from some other project. The chair was cut from a piece of designer paper.  I added a button to emulate a pillow.
I love this piece of Teresa Collin's paper.....I love that in all caps it says, FAMILY IS EVERYTHING. Yep.

Some of the silly things I love right now..........don't judge. ; )

I know we all want to be "caught up" with our children's books.....but I hope you are throwing yourself into those books once in awhile.  Let your children see who you are.  They will appreciate it!
Happy Monday!!!
