Moxie Fab-Tuesday Trigger-It's Completely Collagical

I decided to play once again in the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger challenge!  This week's theme was to create some sort of a collage.  I loved the picture, but I have to be honest, this week's challenge, was just that, a challenge.
I don't consider myself an "artsy" card maker.  I admire people who use Gesso and paints and such and get beautiful results.  But I decided to step out of my comfort zone, pull out my Gesso and various papers and get to work.  I chose patterned papers that went together, including some vintage book papers.  I randomly glued them to a piece of card stock and then trimmed the whole thing into a square.  I gave it a coating of the Gesso and let it dry.  Once it was dry I used a Heidi Swapp circles template and texture paste to add some random circles. It's subtle but it's there if you look closely. ;)
I painted the circles with a hint of gold paint to bring out a bit of the yellow color.
I added my main image of the bird and added tiny postage stamps, flowers, sequins, and a star stick pin.
I'm not sure if I really "nailed it on the head" but it was certainly fun trying!  Sometimes it's good to spread your wings a bit and try new things!

My house is calling me...... "Clean me...Clean me!" So I guess I should run! ;)
Have a great day!!

Last Day of JustRite's New Releases!

Today is JustRite's last day to showcase their brand new stamps for August!  I hope you've enjoyed seeing all of the new products and beautiful projects from the design team!
For my card today, I am showcasing another gorgeous background stamp called, Lace Oval Frame.  Since I have an unnatural addiction lately to Tim Holtz Distress Markers, I couldn't help using them once again! I did a watercolor wash on watercolor paper.  Once it was dry, I stamped the background stamp with Versamark and embossed it in white.  I added some touches of red here and there to give the background a bit more depth. I used a sentiment from the Special Gifts Labels Twenty-Nine set and stamped it in black.
I added vertical stripes of glitter tape and branches of hearts cut from my Silhouette.  I added Queen and Company's black glitter glue to give it some sparkle. The butterfly was also colored with Tim Holtz Markers on watercolor paper and cut out using the Wonderful Wings die from Spellbinders. The bottom piece was cut from vellum to soften it a bit.

For inspiration on using this gorgeous background stamp, be sure to pay these ladies a visit. :)

Have a fantastic Friday my friends!!

Best Wishes

Good morning!  I am showing you two new stamps from JustRite today.  I used the new Dotted Fronds background stamp, designed by Becca Feekin.  I did a watercolor wash using Tim Holtz Distress Markers.  Once it was dry, I stamped the Dotted Fronds in Versamark and embossed it in white. The edges were distressed with a bit of brown ink. The main image is part of the Let Your Soul Sing set. I again did a watercolor wash and stamped it in Versamark and embossed it in white.  I added rhinestones to the flowers' centers.
For the sentiment I used the brand new set, Large Elegant Sentiments.  I did a watercolor wash and embossed it in white. I added silk ribbon, pink string, and a rhinestone for the center.
Here are the two new sets! :)

JustRite's New Christmas Background Stamps

Good morning! I hope you are enjoying all of the new releases by JustRite.  Today I am showcasing a background stamp called, Holly Stripes.  I stamped it with Versamark and then used 3 different colors of embossing powder.  I used a tag to stamp my ornament from the Heritage Christmas Ornaments set. I embossed it in silver. I also used the Festive Poinsettia set.  I stamped it with Versamark on vellum and heat embossed it with pink Zing powder.
I added a round tag, pink satin ribbon, and some glittery silver pearls for the center.

I spent a great day at Great America yesterday with my family!
We got rained out by the evening, but all in all it was such a fun day!

Looking for a Sign

Are you ready for day 3 of JustRite's new release? Today's set, Looking for a Sign, is another beauty....and was designed by Becca Feekin. I adore the fonts in this set, so pretty and elegant. I stamped the sentiment in green and cut it out using Labels Twenty Two from Spellbinders.  I left the die in place and sponged a bit of distress ink to give it more depth. When the die is removed, you have this nice clean edge. I matted it with a kraft doily cut using a Papertrey Ink die, and a Lacey Squares die from Spellbinders.
I have loads of Prima flowers in my stash and decided to put them to good use here.  I love that I can bend the branches in any direction to get the look I want. I added a ribbon, a few pearls, and the card was complete. :)
You will not want to miss any of the projects the design team has created, because each one is pure gorgeousness!

I am off to Great America with my son, sister, BIL, niece, and nephew today. We are crossing our fingers that it doesn't rain.... ;)
Have a great day!

Samantha Walker-Dainty Doilies

Welcome to Day 2 of JustRite's new release!
Today's set is called Dainty Doilies and was designed by Samantha Walker.  I love the look of Doilies! They are delicate, feminine, and perfect for my style!I created a background using varying stamps from the set. Once it was stamped, I cut the card stock and rounded the corners.  I inked the edges with brown Memento ink.
I added a flower that was cut using my Silhouette.  I added pearls to the center and added a few leaves cut from the Bitty Blossoms Die set from Spellbinders. The sentiment is part of Samantha Walker's Buntings and Banners set.
Be sure to visit the other designers to see their gorgeous projects!

I am off to enjoy this beautiful day with my son on the golf course!
I am blessed.....

Lacey Tiers

Good morning everyone!
We start this new week with lots of new release from JustRite!  Today the design team is showcasing this beautiful die designed by our very own Becca Feekin! It is exclusive to JustRite Papercraft and is called, Lacey Tiers.  It is such an amazing intricate die that reflects her style so very well.
For my card I did a watercolor wash using Tim Holtz Distress markers on watercolor paper. I used shades or orange, green, yellow, and blue.  Once it was dry I used Becca's Lacey Tier Die. I backed it with a textured linen paper, and then added glossy accents.
I added coordinating seam binding that I dyed myself.  (Tutorial can be found HERE if interested)
The design team has created beautiful projects using this new die set, so be sure to pay them a visit!
