Dresser Box

I am in love with this dresser from Silhouette. I've been wanting to do something creative with it for quite some time.  It was designed by the talented  Samantha Walker.  I decided to stay in my comfort zone and use soft pinks, blues, and a pop of red. I wanted it to have a shabby vintage feel to it.
I  used pearls for the drawer handles and a bit of doily peeking out of the top of the drawers.  The drawers are perfect for putting jewelry or some smaller trinkets for the recipient.
I added a 3D Coreopsis flower  designed by Jamie Cripps. I gave it a bit of color by adding pink using Tim Holtz Distress Markers.
I added a few leaves, string, berries, and a sentiment using an SRM sticker.

It is going to be another busy weekend here.  I will be standing on the street corner to help raise money for Misericordia.  (The facility we are trying to get Cortney into).  I have a communion party for a close friend, piles of laundry, and maybe a bit of crafty time snuck in here and there.
Any plans this weekend?
Would love to hear what you are up to!
HUGS my friends!

Animal Party!

Thank you so much for your sweet comments about Cortney.  I did pass along what you said to her.  She was smiling from ear to ear.  (My daughter is a bit of a ham!) ;) And to answer Debby's question, yes it is an Origami Owl bracelet she had on. ;)

I wanted to share something crafty today using a darling image from Crafty Secrets.  It is a digital image from the set called, Animal Party.  I colored it with Copics.
The red polka dot paper is also from Crafty Secrets and is part of the Radiant Paper pack. I added a bit of ribbon, string, old fashioned stick pin complete with sentiment, and a bit of gold tinsel.
I am heading to work in a bit, so this is going to be a bit short!
Have a great day and thank you for constantly cheering me (my family) on!  It means the world to me!

Illinois Miss Amazing Pageant

This weekend was a whirlwind of activity! As you know, Cortney participated in the Illinois Miss Amazing Pageant, on Saturday. It was a very organized event run by a host of wonderful volunteers. The participants had to take part in an interview process, where the 4 judges ask them various questions about themselves. My girl tends to get shy and clam up. But her helper, Jasmine said that she shook her shyness by the second judge and answered the rest of the questions.

She was coached on how to introduce herself. Many of the gals in attendance could recite long paragraphs. Cort was able to tell everyone her name and give them her million dollar smile.

She adored the attention, loved having her picture taken all day, and was excited to meet the other girls. :)

It was an amazing experience (no pun intended) for her. For us. The stories the girls and women shared were beautiful and heart warming. It once again reminded us that everyone deserves a chance to shine.

And shine, she did.

She didn't win. But in my book she was the winner from the moment we stepped into the pageant doors.

Have a sweet day my friends, and thank you for letting me share. :)
